Yep.  Dir is a variable.  I guess that is the cause of the problem.  The
error message throw me off a bit.  

The usual message for inz with variable is "The initial value is not a
constant; initial value is ignored."

I don't understand what this code is doing.  I've never seen someone

inz() with a variable name!  If "dir" is a variable, this code won't
work. 
If "dir" is a named constant, then the inz() will work, but the like()
won't.

Can you please explain what "dir" is, and what you mean by "inz(dir)"?
