So you are accumulating the lines in the RPG? You should, as soon as line
66 is printed, print the headings for the new page. You must handle this
manually if you're not going to use the overflow indicator. From what you
are telling me, you're attempting to print line 67, which is causing this
error. You could also, just add the OFLIND(*INXX) in the FSPECS, but not
use it.

Hi all,

Okay, this is probably the most embarrassing question I have ever had to
pose, so no laughing...please!

I have a report program that reads a file and writes out to a printer
file. For background, the program that writes to the file that I am
reading for this report only writes 66 lines per page and then begins a
new page starting over at line 1. The printer file has a page length of
66 and an overflow of 66. When I run the report to generate the report,
I get the dreaded "I/O error CPF5004 was detected in file..." overflow
error.

My question is this...why? Here is the record format from the printer
file:

A R LINE
A PRT85 85 1SPACEB(1)

I must be missing something? Yes, I can put overflow indicators and
check for errors and all of that, but the whole point is that I
shouldn't need to. I am handling that by simply printing only 66 lines
per page, no?

I welcome your thoughts!

Best regards,
Dane
