Try adding something like this to your SQL:

With temptable as (SELECT DISTINCT ACCT, mod FROM *libl/mdpwrk WHERE
acct > 12806 ORDER BY ACCT, MOD)

Select yourfields from temptable join file with PO on join fields ...

This will create a temporary file with your 'level breaks' and join it
to your PO file or whatever you want.

I haven't been using with for very long so my syntax may not be correct
from memory.  Others on this list have more experience with it and other
flavors of temporary tables and may give you a better example or a
better way.
