Steve,

What are you planning on doing w/the name? Looking it up in your
customer table? If so, why not skip the entire upper/lower issue and
just do a SRTSEQ(*LANGIDSHR) on the job and be case insensitive?

Subject: orders from web - names

HI We get some orders from web but through a service. Sometimes the
customer had entered bad data. For example the name will be replicated
in the first address field but will be in lower case, and the name may
be spelled out rather than a nickname (Patrica vs. Pat), but it seems
the last name is always there, altho in lower vs. upper.

How can I convert lower to upper so as to compare this last name, via
the SCAN ?

Thanks,
Steve
