Regarding %size and a named constant, from the V5R2M0 RPG IV reference:

"%SIZE returns the number of bytes occupied by the constant or field. The
argument may be a literal, a named constant, a data structure, a data structure
subfield, a field, an array or a table name."

However, I'm not certain that you can actually take %Size of a constant (and
haven't time to check) so you may need to load it into a varying field and
then use %Len.
