Can you have any confidence that the youngest dob might be a few years ago? After age 100, the numbers drop off very fast, so if you can narrow your range from 8 to 108, you can use 1998 as the top year in your window. I have to believe that not many people will be over 108 years old.

That's true, but if you do that, it'll ALWAYS be 19xx.  You'll never
get 20xx.

True. I'm making an assumption (I know...) that she knows her dataset
and understands the implications of forcing the 19xx into the date. One
time conversion maybe?
