Extremes are usually bad. I find stupid somebody who refuses to use something new, because even if it takes longer, you can do it the old way. But, using the new tool for a task better suited for the old one is equally bad.

Ron, that is an excellent answer but the real questions are does using all
of these new features increase your productivity and does the resulting code
accomplish it purpose faster and with less errors. We sometimes get lost in
the mystery or new adventures to a point where we are not accomplishing our
basic mission.
Having said that, I would be right there next to you during the wonderful

Not for the good programmers who want to increase their productivity that is. IMHO, they should whip anyone who uses a GOTO and Z-ADD's in new development now. I've always felt one should adapt and progress, or get out of the way of the ones that are trying. I'm not saying I'm 100% current, but in new development programs, I try to do new things, like use the IBM Api's, use all BIF's, etc. No more indicators if I can help it. etc etc.
