  Thanks for responding. I did check the archives before I posted my original 
call for help. In fact, I used the code in the archive to generate the call to 
the API and it works fine if you are intending to convert the stream file to 
another file. That is not what I am trying to do and there is nothing in the 
archives that I can see that addresses the problems with trying to convert the 
stream file directly into a spooled file. That's why I mentioned the problems 
with what to put in the 5th parameter (Main Storage Output Image) in this 
condition.
   
  I'm beginning to think that no one uses this API this way and that maybe I 
should just convert the stream file into another file and use AFP overlay with 
the CRTPAGSEG command to try to print the document. That's the way its 
suggested in the archives. The concern I have with this approach is time. I'm 
going to be printing thousands of files each night and thought I could save a 
step by converting directly to the spooled file.
