Date field as Parm -- RPG400-L

Date field as Parm:

Something was said the other day that makes me believe I ammisunderstanding how a date parm is formed & used between programs.

I had supposed I could just name a date field as a parm and it would beproperly transferred, even if the date formats in the sending &receiving programs were not the same. Is this belief incorrect?
