There are a few ways to do this.  First of all, there is the DSPJRN
command.  Using this command, you can create an output file of journal
entries, including before and after images.  The data for the before and
after images are contained in a field, over which you can apply a data
structure, and get the fields.  Look in the iSeries info center for info
relating to this command.

Another, faster way is to use the QJoRetrieveJournalEntries API.  This API
retrieves journal entries into a user space, and you can use pointers to
'tow' data structures through the user space, and retrieve the entries.  The
best examples on this method are found here:
