CL Error with QM

Running a CL program on a 520 at V5R3.  Within program, pumping fields to QM to 
write(INSERT) to a file.  The record is written, but the following occurs and 
pgm aborts.

  completion of a RUN QUERY command with an SQL SELECT statement.              
Recovery  . . . :   Issue a RUN QUERY command on a query that contains an SQL  
  SELECT statement and if it completes successfully try the SAVE DATA command  
  request again.
