There is really no way to call a sub-procedure without it being in a
service program or program.  
If the sub-procedure is in a program, you will need to LR the program
when you are thru with it.  
If it is in a service program, in general it is not a good idea to close
the file.  You will probably need to run it in a *new activation group.

As a matter of fact Rob, this subprocedure is called over and over.
That was my problem with doing the LR.  My goal is to have the files
closed when I am completely done calling the sub procedure.  I leave the
activation group as the default on the CRTPGM.  Your guidance is
apprececiated.
