Maybe splitting hairs but, if you used this snippet then you did last record 
processing in free.  It was just enclosed in c-specs that determine if it's 
time to execute or not.

Any operation that requires a c-spec or compiler directive cannot be done 
without leaving the current /free block regardless of what it is.  The things 
that come to mind quickly are total time level break checking (your situation), 
embedded SQL or other compiler directives that begin with '/' in position 7, 
and we can't forget using the MOVE(L) op-codes.

That works fine.  Can I assume that
you can't do last record processing
in free?  I tried using %eof, but that
did not work either.
