As others have stated, you can use third party software. ASC's ABSTRACT comes 
to mind.

Otherwise it is OUTFs of DSPFFD, DSPPGMREF, DSPOBJD and such beasts; return 
variables of RTVOBJD, RTVMBRD; and perhaps their API equivalents.. For RPG IV 
references you need an API to extract the used sources.

You can combine the results of some commands with SQL.

I would go for ABSTRACT; perhaps you can lease the utility for a short period.
