MOVE isn't quite that primitive.  It understands the two bytes at the
beginning and uses that information to determine the current length of
the verying field.

If you MOVE from a varying field with a length of zero, nothing will be
moved.  If you MOVE to a varying field with a length of zero, nothing
will be moved either, since MOVE doesn't change the length of a varying
result field.
