True, the F spec is not needed but it is not germane to the problem 
solving.

Run this again with STRDBG.  No break points are necessary, but if you 
want to, set a break point at the *LR processing and EVAL sqlstt.  Compare 
the value of SQLSTT with what you find under

The most common problem in your first SQL program is that you do not have 
a journal on the file, and you are not turning off commitment control with 

     C/EXEC SQL
     C+ Set Option

     C+     Commit    = *None,
     C+     UsrPrf    = *User,
     C+     DynUsrPrf = *User,
     C+     Datfmt    = *iso,
     C+     CloSqlCsr = *EndMod
     C/END-EXEC
The above is SQL's equivalent of the h spec.
