I wrote a utility to do that in CLP.

You can either:
1) do a DSPFD *libl/Q* TYPE(*MBR) to an outfile and use embedded SQL on that. 
2) use the List Member API in to a User Space, retrieve its pointer linked to a 
DS and then use (%)SCAN. Use the found result for another pointer based DS. 

My question is: which one to do you want to edit? The first in the library 
list? Then you can use *LIBL on the OVRDBF. And at V5R1 or higher you can use 
EXTFILE on the F-specs.
