Are there really packages out there that use true date fields, but still
generate OPM RPG? I've seen bigger fights to get people to use true date
fields than to use RPGLE.

Subject
date data type in RPG/400

Hi,

I have a OPM RPG/400 program that is chaining to a file that has a date
data type field (L).

When I compile my program, I get the message:

* QRG7151 Severity:  00   Number:    1

          Message . . . . :   The record format contains
DATE/TIME/TIMESTAMP  fields. DATE/TIME/TIMESTAMP fields ignored.

How can I access this field within OPM RPG/400?

TIA,

Dave
