is there a quick way to make %date give me the value that *date would
return?

I have a program that runs through a CGI job, and *date gives me the job
date, but since the iseries is so stable, that date could be months off,
between ipl's

so... I would like to use %date... but I cant seem to make it give me the
value  = 3302005

i can get 2005-03-30 and the other formats, but I can't seem to strip out
the delimiters...

also, it says to retrieve the current date, leave it blank, but when I do, I
can't set the date fmt code..

Any how, to wrap it up...

I just need the current date in a numeric mmddyyyy format...

Thanks, tim
