If you have the RPG xTools, you can use the xLateCCSID subprocedure to "just
do it". If not, you can call a number of different APIs to do the conversion
for you. The one xlateCCSID uses under the covers is iconv().

structure that the info comes back into has the directory name formatted as

I am looking at various API's but am wondering what the consensus seems to
be regarding the best way to translate this data back into human readable
