Originally I was going to reply RTFM. However there were NO reference in
the ILE RPG Reference. And what references in the ILE RPG Programming
guide said simply that FREE is not supported, or
"You must replace the FREE or DEBUG operation code with equivalent logic
either before or after conversion".

So, in a round-about way I guess I'll reply RTFM's, but I'll be more
patient. :-)
First, read the old RPG/400 manual for what you were getting FREE to do.
Then, read the ILE Concepts manual for how to do it in ILE now. Perhaps a
named activation group is in order?
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/ic2924/books/sc415606.pdf

Perhaps an example would be nice, but maybe an example without reading the
ILE Concepts Manual is meaningless, and once you read that the answer
comes to you.

Subject
Equivalent of FREE (RPG) Opcode in RPGLE?

Hi

What is the equivalent of RPG Opcode FREE in RPGLE.
If i use CVTRPGSRC to convert RPG to RPGLE source, the FREE opcode is
retained as the same in the destination RPGLE source but there is no such
opcode exist in RPGLE.
Could anyone tell me whats the equivalent in RPGLE?.

Thanks
Siva
