Something like this should work, where MYDBF is the input buffer for the
database file on the trigger program.

D myDBF     E DS             Extname(myDBF)

D TriggerDS   DS              QUALIFIED
D  addlField1            D
D  addlField2            T
D   dbRecord                  LikeDS(myDBF)

C             eval     TriggerDS.AddField1 = %Date()
C             eval     TriggerDS.dbRecord = myDBF

    Hello,
    I would like to write the simply update trigger program which take the
updating record, add some new information and add it to another file.

    Does anyone know how to make it the simply way (without moving each
fields
separately)?

    Thanks
    Regards
    Jarek
