Astronomy applications deal with dates like this.  It's a hobby, and
I'm an RPG programmer so I do astronomy in RPG.    :-) :-)  Aside from
that bit of useless drivel, it's generally not a good practice to hard
code any magic numbers.  The sanity you save by finding alternatives
could be your own!
