<lots of stuff snipped>

Paul,

You can definitely apply these techniques in RPG and ILE by using
Service Programs. I have a couple of articles on Encapsulation and an
entire website devoted to Encapsulation with RPG at
http://www.rpgbeans.com , maybe it could be of use to you. The articles
are listed at the bottom of this page:
http://www.rpgbeans.com/encapsulation.php

There is a free tool there as well, but it is SQLRPGLE only and has an
infrequent bug in the CRTPTYPMBR command. It will, however, create the
source code for the bean itself based on a database file.

BTW, my free library at http://www.rpgnext.com also has a JavaBean
creator command that reads a database file and creates a .java Bean
file.
