I have an action that is going on as a process is being run. I believe it
is called a module of a service program. When the activation group closes
I want to do some final calculations in my module. Since it is NOMAIN there
is no way I can see to signal that the job is ending.

You can register a subprocedure that will be called when the activation group ends using either the CEE4RAGE API or the atexit() function from ILE C.

In either case, it'll call your subprocedure just before closing the activation group. Search this forum for CEE4RAGE, you should be able to find an example (since I know I've posted one before)

Have I displayed both the problem and my ignorance?

Shrug... seemed like a good description to me.
