You don't say which RPG you are using, but there is an 'Addition' flag
field:

 FMT F  FFilename++IPEASFRlen+LKlen+AIDevice+.Keywords
0001.00 Ffoo       if a e             disk

See the 'a' between the 'if' and 'e'?  This F spec can interpreted as:
Allow access to the disk file named foo, an externally described file,
opened as input, full procedural, with add support.
