Yea but bars give you free beer. :-).

Only kidding. I have a friend that I played with back in the '80s. Yea,
'80s hair band. I'll try to dig out a picture sometime, pretty funny.
Anyhoo, he was a heroin addict. He actually physically died 3 different
times and they brought him back. He straightened his life out and is
currently a D&A counselor. Still looks the part. Hair down to his tail and
all. From what I understand, he really relates well with younger folks.
Even though he's 47. Man could that cat play.

Thanks,

Mark

You folks are scaring me - I performed professionally as singer,
percussionist and drummer for a number of years in the Philly area and
eventually had to give it up to stay married (say no more) - The synergy
between the IT mindset and the creative\artistic mind is informative to say
the least - I am now in (of all places) a Seminary for a Masters Program in
counseling as I see the writing on the wall RE the AS400 and programming in
the US in general and need to do something useful when (and if) I grow up.
I
am hoping to do mental health counseling specializing in addiction (a world
I experienced personally as a musician) and am "riding the wave" for now
until I get my college debt (and my 2 kids college debt) paid off. Bottom
line is: "IT been' berry good to me" up till now. (A better lifestyle than
playing in bars!)

An informative thread, suffice it to say.

Peace, RDS

Tell me about it...
I sold my gear when I was 18 to buy a car and a PC.

I'm getting a new guitar this christmas :) Fender. Boy am I happy again.
I'm also surprised at how much I still remember.
