So what is the process to get these suggestions into a product plan? Is
there a formal way to do this that doesn't take pages of documentation? Is
there a product roadmap that outlines what the future enhancements might be?

It seems to me that hoping that IBM monitors the list and take some of these
things to heart is a bit risky. If there was a formal process (like the RFC
process for Internet standards) it would be a great way to gather feedback
(and "vote" for an item in the list).

I wish /free was a bit more consistent and comprehensive. It "seems" more
natural to me (but I am all thumbs when it comes to typing, so fixed
"enforcement" is probably a good thing). But, with an IDE that supported
the syntax, code completion, coloring and syntax helps, I might be more
productive (as soon as I can get a new notebook with a big HDD, fast
processor and a Gb of RAM, I'll start using WSDc...)
