I did the "track where I am (supposed to be)" thing that Charles 
suggested.

As Karen mentioned, you should be able to FETCH BEFORE/FETCH AFTER.  But I 
received an error that seemed to indicate I had done a FETCH RELATIVE of 
too many records when I tried to use them.  So I ended up doing a FETCH 
FIRST/PRIOR and FETCH LAST/NEXT to properly position the cursor and get an 
appropriate SQLCOD for the operation.

I would argue that such behavior is not consistent with the documentation.

Hope your experience is more pleasant.  Please do not let this little 
"bump in the road" stop you from using such a great technique.

I plan on using BLOCK.  First things first, though.

Could you expound a bit on your problems with BOF & EOF?  Is it related to
using RELATIVE?  Or subsequent FETCHes?
