Hi

I am trying to write a routine that needs to identify the Field Reference
File information for a given database file. I know that the DSPFFD command
shows this information and that the output can be directed to an *OUTFILE
for processing, however, as the program will process a large number of files
I want to avoid having to make repeated calls to the command and then
reading the output.

I feel sure that the information must be accessible from somewhere and have
been through the eight or so QADB* database cross reference files in QSYS
that the logical files SYSTABLES, SYSCOLUMNS, etc are built over and none of
these contain the field reference file details. I have also looked at the
QUSLFLD API and, again, that does not contain the required details.

Does anybody know if there is another API or database file that I can
reference to find this information?

Thanks and best regards

Jonathan Mason
