I would look at FRCRATIO setting for the file. This could be causing the
delay in
writing the records.

Subject
Records written to a file don't show up immediately

We have an interactive program that writes records to a file. The file
isn't overridden, nor is it a user opened file. Currently only one
program uses the file and only one workstation is running that program.
The problem we're having is once the program writes the records to the
file there they are not visible for quite a while. For instance the
program wrote several records to the file at 5:50 AM, but we couldn't
see the records until after 7:30 AM. I've never seen this before with an
interactive program. The program isn't running in the default activation
group could that be the cause of the problem? Any ideas would help.
Thanks.
