Prototyping printf() was a challenge due to the polymorphic aspects of the
parameters. (Did I just use the "p" word in a sentence? Sorry.)
     D printf PR 10I 0 ExtProc('printf')
     D szRecvBuff * Value Options(*STRING)
     D szFormat * Value Options(*STRING)
     D 10I 0 Value OPTIONS(*NOPASS)
     D 10I 0 Value OPTIONS(*NOPASS)

You can add as many parms as you need to. For a string value, use the
following:

     D printf PR 10I 0 ExtProc('printf')
     D szRecvBuff * Value Options(*STRING)
     D szFormat * Value Options(*STRING)
     D * Value OPTIONS(*STRING:*NOPASS)
     D * Value OPTIONS(*STRING:*NOPASS)
     D * Value OPTIONS(*STRING:*NOPASS)
     D * Value OPTIONS(*STRING:*NOPASS)

I usually use this prototype only an then just convert the numeric value to
character and pass them in like this:

   Printf(szBuffer : 'Name: %s Age: %s':%trimR(USRNAME):%char(age))

Make it a bit easier than having umpteen prototypes for printf.

I like 'all you have to do is prototype the call', especially in combination

with printf() :-)
