Q. - Create SQL view with keys?
A. - Nope.

Q. - DDS logical file with subset of physical by first char of a particular
field.
A. - maybe. how about:

If the field isn't too big:

S FIELDA COMP(GE x'06000000')
   FIELDA COMP(LE x'06FFFFFF')

Otherwise:

add an additional field to the logical
   FRSTCH SST(FIELDA 1 1)

S FRSTCH COMP(EQ '6')

Charles
