To all:

We have just upgraded (?) to V5R3 last weekend and ran a job heavy on
embedded SQL usage in RPG IV programs for the first time today.

Has anyone seen any strange errors involving embedded SQL usage on
V5R3?

This is waht is happening:

The program retrieves data from tables supplied by the state for child
welfare cases. Since we have no primary keys on these tables, we have
used SQL.
The first error today, when running in debug on the iSeries, showed
that a race code had a period in it instead of a number. No wonder it
has a decimal data error.
So I put a monitor block around it and continued. Passed that problem.

Next another field, the person id, showed up with a period when
displayed. Now I did some more checking and discovered that the race
code in the file is a number and the person id is also a number.

At some point, I saw the intermediate SQL values and they were correct.
Because of compile defaults changing, I cannot see the copied
statements any longer.
It seems that somewhere between the SQL Select and the program values
there has been a dis-connection.

Any help appreciated. thanks in advance.
