Ok,
        I actually don't need to change the data area, just get a value

D DataOut                 1    258
  *
 d dtaarain        ds                  dtaara(dpicsarsrd)
 d Status                  1      1a

 C                   In        dtaarain

Where does the U go to specify local data area? What is the DataOut
necessary for?

Chris

Chris - the change for you would be specifying a U before the DS to
indicate it's the LDA.
