Hi
        sorry if this this has already been mentioned....
but I suspect the problem here is that the "RQD DATE" field 
at the bottom of the screen is not on the subfile control record. 
This means that to find out what the contents are of this field
you will need to do a Read {Footer Format name} - this is 
because the exfmt on the subfile control only does a read of
this format.
You may also find some oddities regarding position cursor etc
