Published July 2004  - MC Press has learned that author and AS/400 CL
tech wizard Ernie Malaga passed away in April. 

Ernie was one of Midrange Computing magazine's star technical editors
and the author of multiple technical books about CL and the AS/400, some
of which proved to be such classics that they have gone into multiple
editions. 

For many years, Ernie wrote and edited the "Programmer's Toolbox" column
for Midrange Computing magazine. His style of writing was always a joy
to read for its clarity and precision. There was also a hint of humor in
the way in which he communicated with his readers, and they in turn
enjoyed his playful style . . .
