Beppe,
Very True and I would suggest it for anyone with a single table or a few
tables to retrieve. If you have the time and expertise or don't have money
to spend on a utility, this is a great way to go.
We wrote our utility for a client who has many SQL servers that may change
on a daily basis, the databases and tables change frequently and the
selection criteria changes rapidly. They don't have Java skills or a system
that runs Java fast enough to make it worth while for them.
We started with the Java interface. It just didn't fit what we were
attempting to do.

You can use a SQL UDTF. Check mcpressonline for an example.

It works fine and fast, it is not that hard to customize and . . .
everything is FREE.

We have tried it with Microsoft Jdbc and opensource JTDS.

Beppe.

I need to get data from an SQL database on Windows NT through an RPG program
on the AS/400. Does anyone know how this is done?

Thanks,
Jeff
