I noticed that also, but the resulting number of records is exactly the
same for both files.  Makes you wonder where that difference in index size
comes from (back to the books!)

Could this be the difference:

Index size  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :                    1056768

vs:

Index size  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :                      24576


Seems like the 'omit' version has a lot less data to index or process.
