Yes it is a great solution and that is what I did do.


BTW:

What data/information is available at the time your program will execute? Obviously
the array or DS, but do you have access to the "data length" value returned on the
MQGET? As this thread progresses, more information and inhibitors become available.
Perhaps if you identified what you have access too and what your constraints are,
we could provide additional insight/feedback.

That is a great thought but the process that will call my function has already pulled the message off the queue and 'massaged' it so it is not the same length as it was on the queue.
