Thank you so much for your EXCELLENT response, Scott!

You know, I actually saw the two API's, but did not connect how they could be 
used
together.  I think I saw "lilian date" and thought immediately that it was 
nothing
more than a "# of days since 14 October 1582".  That's a pretty impressive API, 
able
to use picture strings to drive how the input should look.  Definitely going 
into my
toolbox!
