Try something like that I am prety mush sure it will work as per your need.

*HIVAL SETGT FILENAME

By using this method you can set your file pointer at EOF even if the file is not a keyed file.
Kindly let me know your result. You can also use an indicator to find out about the file pointer status wheather it is successful or not.
