I just re-read your original comment and realised I had mis-read what you said.
I had skimmed and picked up only " I am still learning.  But I still shake my
head ... on how to use /Free to add 1 to a counter.  " dropping the phrase "at
the thread".

That changes things.

Mea culpa.
