Yes, it is possible. I haven't done it in a long time (4 years or so), but I
did it once.

Still working on this gem of a project.  Just a quick
question.

Is it possible to write a client application on the AS/400
that uses SSL and client authentication?  

The question is also in to IBM to ask their developers,
just wondering if anyone has done it.
