The SQL preprocessors are only provided if you license a copy of the SQL/400
product (or whatever the name is today).
The only thing IBM did with V5.1 was to increase the price of RPG IV on most
system by 4 times and throw in the other products with it that weren't
selling, such as COBOL, C, C++, CODE, etc.

Subject: Using SQL as opposed to OPNQRYF

Is there much of a performance difference between SQL and OPNQRYF? I
have never used SQLRPGLE and I was curious to know if it performed any
faster than OPNQRY does. Also can anyone tell me why I can create a
SQLRPGLE source member, prompt a C+ line in the source member and see
all of the fields that are available for a SELECT statement, but I can't
use the CRTSQLRPGI command to create the object? We are at V5R1, and I
was under the impression this was included with V5R1.
