DSPOBJD OBJ(CRTSQLRPGI) OBJTYPE(*CMD) DETAIL(*SERVICE)
Licensed program . . . . . . . . . . . . : 5722ST1

Do you have that licensed program loaded?

At periodic times IBM has bundled certain packages together. I think at
one time they had an option that included Query/400, SQL Development Kit
and a few others.

The Enterprise package (that many only care about because it includes
unlimited interactive) includes the SQL development kit (5722ST1), along
with several other packages.

But as a general rule, SQL was not included with V5R1. Now, if you want
to pour through all your old licenses to see if you purchased it but never
loaded it on, then good luck.

I am not sure what gave SEU the option to prompt SQLRPGLE sql statements.

Performance? Gut reaction but I can't see how, all statements being
equal, that there would be that much of a performance difference between
OPNQRYF and SQLRPGLE.

Using SQL as opposed to OPNQRYF

Is there much of a performance difference between SQL and OPNQRYF? I
have never used SQLRPGLE and I was curious to know if it performed any
faster than OPNQRY does. Also can anyone tell me why I can create a
SQLRPGLE source member, prompt a C+ line in the source member and see
all of the fields that are available for a SELECT statement, but I can't
use the CRTSQLRPGI command to create the object? We are at V5R1, and I
was under the impression this was included with V5R1.
