For most types, %len and %size return the same value.

For numeric fields, %len is the number of digits and %size is the number
of bytes.

For varying length character (also UCS-2 and graphic), %len is the
current length and %size is the number of bytes in the whole variable,
including the 2-byte length prefix.  For a 10A-VARYING containing 'abc',
%len would be 3 and %size would be 12.
