James, I just modified a program in the same manner last night and see the
exact same error as you, with and without DEBUG.  It appears that adding a
procedure to an RPG IV program invokes some stricter variable name checking.

Good, it's not just me, then. I was worried it had something to do with the release I'm on (V4R1).
