This may seem like a stupid question, but are you updating (UPDATE opcode)
the the subfile record after you blank out the selection field?  You don't
say so below.

I am writing a program where the user selects one of the records on the
first page and I display different fields in the second subfile page
The problem I am having is clearing the selection field. I am moving
*blanks to the select field before I  write the footer & header and exfmt
subfile control. I also tried using the eval statement. The field is not
getting blanked out.
The select field in the subfile is coded for input & output.
What am I doing wrong?
