That was a typo in the email. I had already changed the code, copied from
Jlpex and just modified the email to what it was.

The code compiled but I got an internal failure error on the job. A pointer
problem I think.

Thanks,

What's with the missing semicolon on the original update Sysctl statement?

Subject: V5R2 Compiler Bug

Last week I posted a question about the compiler failing on a compile.

Here is the code that caused the fail:

     PgetNextOrdno     B
     DgetNextOrdno     PI             6  0
     D key             S              6    inz('STATI1')

      /free
        chain key Sysctl;
        lorno += 10;
        update Sysctl
        return lorno;
      /end-free
     P                 E

Sysctl is a program described file. I had to change the code to this (with
corresponding O-Specs):

     PgetNextOrdno     B
     DgetNextOrdno     PI             6  0
     D key             S              6    inz('STATI1')

      /free
        chain key Sysctl;
        lorno += 10;
        except sysctlupd;
        return lorno;
      /end-free
     P                 E

Now it compiles.

Thanks,

Mark
